ABOUT THE GATE
What To Expect
We are delighted you are considering theGATE and hope that you are enriched by the presence of God as you join us in worship. We feel the best way to serve others is to help them know and love their Heavenly Father, help them become like Jesus and help them bond with others who desire to experience God’s presence through his word and his spirit. If you do not have a church home or are just visiting, we trust you will find welcoming hearts here at theGATE.
Before I arrive….
There is plenty of convenient parking at theGATE. Guests should feel free to park in the spots designated for Visitor Parking. There is also parking in front of the building or down the hill behind the building. If you happen to park in the rear of the building, please be sure to walk around to the front of the building and enter through the main doors. You are also welcome to park across the street in the parking lot of the Tennessee Department of Safety Drivers License Testing Center.
Come as you are, with an open heart.
The environment at theGATE is very casual. You will see people in everything from jeans to dress pants, from flip-flops to high-heels and from skirts to shorts.
You can expect to be greeted warmly, with friendly smiles and open arms. theGATE is a gathering of people walking in the joy of God’s presence. People who want to know Jesus, be like him, and mirror his beauty to the world. Because we can know that joy, we can compassionately embrace others and life with all its ups and downs. Therefore, you might even expect to get a hug or two.
Absolutely! There will be hosts to greet you at the front door, and others stationed at our Welcome Center who would be more than happy to give you a quick tour of the building and escort you to wherever you need to go.
Feel free to visit City Gate Cafe located in our comfortable church lobby. We would love for you to join us for a cup of coffee and a time of fellowship from 9:30 to 9:55 a.m. every Sunday before our regular Worship Gathering at 10:00 a.m. The cafe also has delicious breakfast treats and snacks available.
As we worship the Lord, we are free in our expression to him. You may see hands clapping, arms lifted, a few feet dancing, and even a few banners waving. These are each Biblical expressions of worship to the Lord. We want you to feel free to worship him as you are comfortable.
Whether it is Pastor Steve or someone else from our pastoral team speaking, you can always count on the preaching at theGATE to be Biblically-based and theologically-sound, challenging yet practical and above all else, life-changing.
Prayers Teams will be available at the end of every Sunday Worship Gathering for anyone needing or desiring prayer and ministry. However, at theGATE it is likely that just about anyone will be willingly to pray with you and for you. All you need to do is ask.
After Service and Beyond…
Please be sure to stop by our Welcome Center anytime before the worship service and someone will be happy to give you some additional information on the church, answer any questions you might have, and even help you check your kids in for KIDS ROCK. Also, we have a gift bags with goodies and more info about us available at the RED UMBRELLA after our worship service! So please stop by, pick up your gift, and say hi!
As part of your visit to theGATE you will be given the opportunity to fill out a Visitor Information Card which has a provision for signing up to be on our email list. Please place this in the Offering Basket or drop it off at the Welcome Center on your way out. We do want you to know that we do not sell or give away any of you personal information, and will only contact you with the latest information on things that are going on at theGATE. You can also sign up for our Email List online (click here).
For those who desire to become members of this church, we offer a 4 week series of discipleship classes called STARTING GATE.
