Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision

theGATE has a vision, but it is not a vision of what we can do, it is a vision of who we are and who we can become together. Our vision is centered on those eternal values that should never change in an ever-changing world. Above all else, we are passionate about being disciples and making disciples by:

Knowing God...

We were all made for an intimacy with God that can only be experienced when knowng Him is our highest aim. Therefore, we seek to be a people marked by a passion to worship God and experience His very real presence in our gatherings and every aspect of our lives.

Growing Together...

There is no more satisfying life than the one that seeks to reflect Christ’s character. That is why we value His grace in our lives and are committed to walking in right relationships with each other as a community. For us, the true measure of a successful life is how much it imitates Jesus! He came to a world of sin, suffering and broken relationships preaching a message of the “Good News of the Kingdom” and with a power to make things right. Jesus' kingdom is a different blueprint for living individually and in community. We are devoted to pray, humble ourselves, apply his teachings, and experience his power in order that the prayer he taught us would be fulfilled: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven”.

Our Mission

If our vision is about who we are; then our mission is about what we do. As we are faithful to walk in Christ’s vision for our lives, we are also committed to His mission:

Proclaiming Good News…

The core purpose of our fellowship is to awaken a passion for God in others. We want to be people who understand the power of The Gospel, the “Good News”, and communicate that to our world. As we grow in the power of the Holy Spirit, we hope that through our lives others may “taste and see that the Lord is good”. We also want to share his Good News with as many as we can in as many ways as we can. We should always be ready, to “give a reason for our faith” and help people see what God is really like in all his wonder. As such, we are committed to:

Building Jesus-Followers…

We are dedicated to helping others find the true freedom that comes when we are transformed to become like Christ. The most satisfying life is the life that follows and looks like Jesus, expressing authentic freedom and genuine peace. Our core priority is to commit to being disciples ourselves, and then help others become disciples, Jesus-Followers. Whether we are helping families, meeting in small groups, or doing service projects together, our focus is letting the power of the Holy Spirit change us by making us like Jesus.

Creating Communities of His Presence…

We are also committed to understanding God’s ultimate desire of giving all people a chance to see his character through clusters of relationships that model his love. Our missions to "Proclaim Good News" as we "Build Jesus-Followers" is accomplished to a large extent by connecting people to smaller groups that can help them grow, empowering people to create these “communities”, and coaching them to express Christ’s compassion in their workplace, at their schools, in their neighborhoods, as well as, in the nations of the Earth.
